What’s for tea ???? I here this question numerous times throughout the week ….
I start off being very organised ordering food online and planning meals for the week. But slowly this is gets a thing of the past. I still mostly order online and still plan some of our meals but what I’m find is when it gets to the day to actually have the planned meal we either forget to take the meat out of the freezer or we don’t fancy the planned meal. Anyone else struggle with this? This has resulted in a cupboard full of stuff I have bought but never used. But still we keep buying more and more each week and also buying extra food in the week of things we fancy on top of our weekly shop results in spending way too much on food! Our food bill outgoings are second to our mortgage !!
So I plan or not plan to use up all the surplus food I have in my cupboards half packets of maccaroni and bag of Bulgar wheat fish stock cubes tinned coconut milk etc etc.
Instead of looking through my endless cookbooks and planning “new”meals I am going to plan our meals around things we already have in the cupboards, just buying the essentials to go with these. I hope this results in emptier cupboards and few more pounds in our pockets…..we will see
