Hygge the danish art of cosiness doesn’t have to end just because it’s Summer. In fact I think Hygge can be embraced all year round. We don’t have to feel sense of cosiness just in the Winter months it’s more about the feeling we create ourselves all year around, and for me it’s the sense of contentment we feel when spending time with our love ones.
Summer is the perfect time to embrace Hygge. It’s a great time of year to enjoy the slower pace of life with friends and family. Take time to really appreciate the little things in life and not take anything for granted.
Getting outdoors is the perfect way to embrace Hygge this Summer.
Remember your blankets and snuggle up on the beach to watch the sunset at the end of a busy family day at the beach.
Invite friends and family over for a Summer night bbq
Light the outdoor candles, switch on the fairy lights, music, talk, eat, drink and enjoy each others company.
Why not try star gazing
Grab a blanket go out into the garden and wonder at the stars. Depending on where you live you may even manage to spot a shooting star.
Read a book
Reading is very Hygge no matter where you are. Take a book to the beach, on holiday or even just relax in the evening with your favourite book. The perfect way to relax and unwind after a busy day.
Go check out the Sunrise
Whilst on holiday, this is one of my favourite things to do, get up early and head down to the beach, notice the stillness of the day and take some time to yourself before the hustle and bustle of a hectic day. Even when I’m at home I like to do this in the mornings before the kids wake, sneak down stairs grab a cup of tea and sit in the quiet of the day for just 10 minutes it really is a wonderful way to start the day.
The ultimate Summer Hygge has got to be camping, switch off the WiFi, sleep under the stars, spend time with love ones, toast marshmallow’s around the campfire and get outdoor’s has to be the perfect way to embrace Hygge this Summer.
Are you a big fan of Hygge? How do you embrace Hygge in the Summer months ??
Until next time
