How to Hygge into Spring

Do you want to continue the feeling you get from Hygge into Spring ???

Hygge into Spring and embrace the new season

So very slowly the winter days are becoming lighter and spring feels like it is on the horizon. The flowers are popping up around us and slowly we can see a new season in sight.

The change in season doesn’t mean we have to say goodbye to that warm fuzzy feeling we get from Hygge. Cosy winter nights with the candles lit and snuggled in a fluffy blanket.

Hygge is not an action it is definitely a feeling and can be felt in every season.

Here I share ways to embrace the change in season and how you can Hygge into Spring.

What better feeling than getting outdoors in the fresh air. Weekend walks with families, outdoor adventures and enjoying pottering in the garden or maybe start a herb garden. Plant some seeds and enjoy watching them pop up as the months roll on. Getting outdoors has a great way of uplifting our mood and making us feel better. It definitely has a feeling of Hygge. I love to sit in the garden on a morning with a nice big mug of tea and listen to the birds tweeting while the kids eat their breakfast.

Spring clean the house, sort out the wardrobes and pack away winter clothes. Bring a little more Scandinavian into your home with plants and flowers. The smell of fresh flowers brings a lovely smell to the house.

Not forgetting the candles. I light candles all year round it’s not something I just do in the dark Winter evenings. But I do like to change from the cinnamon Christmas fragrances to more floral and natural smells. I also love to light candles into summer in the garden or add fairy lights to the seating area to bring a lovely candle light to the garden and rooms in Spring and Summer.

I hope you embrace the change in season and really enjoy the Spring months and creating your own ways to embrace Hygge into Spring.

I know it’s not quite here yet but with the glimpse of lighter days it’s time to start thinking about the new season.

The Danish are said to be the happiest country in Europe. So embrace the change in season get outdoors, spring  clean the house. Really enjoy the Spring months and creating your own ways to embrace Hygge into Spring.

Until next time

Brilliant post. I love hygge and all your suggestions for continuing it into Spring. I have already been buying tulips and daffodils and they are like a ray of sunshine in the house. I also can’t wait to get out in the garden more. Our garden has so much potential but it is a mess at the moment. I am looking forward to the brighter days and getting stuck in with my pruning shears. Hugs Lucy xxxx

I’ve just purchased a lovely blanket for our settee and I’ve moved a rug into our living room to give it a cosy feel. I love Hygge. Fab ideas for carrying it on into spring.

I love this post! I’ve not really read much about the Hygge trend, but the more I hear the more i just think it is so ME. We are all about the outdoors and simple living as much as we can. I love these tips. Some great ideas. I think fairy lights can be used any time of year and just seem to make everything more magical! x
