Normal routine has resumed this week as we saw the end of the Easter holidays. I don’t feel like I have lot to write about as its been all about getting back to normal with work school clubs etc. This week seems to have flown by has we have settled back into our normal routine. The days all seem to mix into one big blurr as we juggle everyday life. I like to take the time each week to take a break, sit down with a big cup of tea and write my #Littleloves for the week. So go get yourself a cuppa and have a read of what we’ve been loving.
This week I’ve been continuing to enjoy My Simple Things magazine I know I rave about this magazine a lot but it sure is a great magazine and perfect for reading in the evening after a busy day. It focuses on slowing down like the name suggests and enjoying the simple things in life.
I haven’t really watched anything this week I’ve got to say and its been a major fail on this one.
Although I did watch a very interesting instagram live on phone addiction, more about that below.
I’ve heard so much about this book over the past week, and after watching an instagram live on the book and what its about I decided to add it to audible. I, like many others always have my phone to hand, it’s literally by my side all day everyday. This has not always been the case of course, born in the 80s when mobile phones were virtually non existant or like a house brick and I didn’t get my first mobile phone until I was 16. But from then on I’ve relyed on it more and more especially since getting a smart phone. Its my go too for absolutely everything, appointment book, social media, my blog, alarm clock, staying connected with people whenever and wherever. I have to admit that I do love my phone but have come to realise I probably use it or rely on it way too much. I think I will write a full blog post on this topic as I could go on and on so I’ll leave it there for now, but I know I do need to cut down on the amount of time I’m spending endlessly scrolling, tapping and searching so I’m hoping this book will help me break the habbit. I’ve made a start by downloading an app which measures the amount of time I spend on it. Its actually quite scary how long its showing. So if you’re like me and you feel like you spend way too much time on your phone this book could be for you or if you’ve already read it I’d love to know what you thought.
This week I haven’t ‘made’ anything really apart from everyday meals of course and lots of tea which is my favourite thing to make, but I did make a start on my half marathon training. I’ve loved getting back into running this week, although a little wet and muddy I’ve impressed myself by not making any excuses and got my butt into gear and got out and ran. Although a little hard at times I’ve completed week 1 of my training plan, only another 28 weeks to go.
Finally I got to wear something other than jumpers and leggings and picked up this lovely yellow top from Primark. There are so many lovely tshirts in there at the moment and it was nice to wear something a little more colourful.
