Peter Rabbit, running and the end of Easter #Littleloves 6th April 2018

I’m a little late to the party this week but didn’t want to miss, I think even on the most caotic of weeks its so important to sit back and think about the little things and this linky makes me do just that with my little loves from the past week. So the kids are back to school tomorrow and thats it the end of the Easter holidays, we have eaten far more chocolate than we should and still have a bit to go but all is good. We haven’t been away this holiday but have enjoyed lots of family time. In some ways it seems like the kids have been off school such a long time but in other ways seems like the holidays have flown by.

So grab a cuppa and have a read of what we’ve been loving this week.

This week I signed up to my first half marathon, and I’ve been reading every bit of advise, blog post or website there is on running. I’m very much a beginner in terms of my running but feel determined to complete the run. So when Fiona at A Mum track mind  recommened Your Pace or Mine I was intrigued to read it. Its an honest account of running and hopefully will bring a little humour to my day when the running schedule gets tough.

A trip to the Cinema

Our outdoor plans were cancelled due to the rain so we opted for the cinema to see the Peter Rabbit, what a great funny feel good movie. The Rabbits were so cute and I loved James Corden as Peter Rabbit, his humour really shone through and I think I actually loved the movie just as much as the kids.

Easter treats

Easter Sunday seems so long ago now but it was the day all the family got together at my Mum and Dads for a big Easter lunch. It was so lovely for us all to get together and my Mum made a yummy turkey dinner. I decided to make this Apple Frangipane tart to take along with us its a Mary Berry recipe and you can always rely on good old Mary can’t you. It was delicious and I just love almonds, it went down a treat with everyone else too.

I’ve not got much to write about here apart from jumpers, leggings boots repeat!! Anyone else feel like this is all they wear at the moment ??

On monday we got up to yet more snow, seriously whats with this weather at the moment, one minute its blue sunny skies the next its snowing. It really needs to stop now so I can start wearing more Spring like clothes and stop having to get my big boots and coat back out.

Did I mention I’m doing a half marathon!!!

Yes me and my friend signed up to our very first half marathon and this weekend I started my training plan. Its a 29 week plan to have us ready for taking part in October. I know I keep going on about this but seriously what have I done …..13.1 miles is a bloody long way. But I’m feeling motivated and ready for the challenge.

So wish me luck !!

And lastly….

Like I said its the end of the school holidays and the kids are back to school tomorrow so its back to normal routine, I do love the slow mornings the school holidays bring and have enjoyed the quieter days before the chaos of school and work resumes.

So thats it for another week.

I hope you all had a great week and enjoyed your Easter break too. Are your kids back to school ?

Until next next time

Caroline X

My children still have a week at home before going back to school, which I’m quite pleased about as I’ve been ill this week. Good luck with the half marathon!

This has made me think I should take the children to see Peter Rabbit this afternoon. Nope, my children have another week off and I am relishing the lazy mornings with them. I’m less keen on the fact I am getting up at the crack of dawn to try and squeeze my work in before they wake!

Sounds like you had some lovely family days together. My boy is off for another week. I’m enjoying spending the time with him and trying to make the most of it, I know I’ll miss him when he’s back at school! x
