Spend Valentines with the ones you love

Whether you love or loathe Valentines it’s a chance to think about the people we love. I like to make a little effort and enjoy some time with loved ones. It doesn’t just have to be with a partner it can be spending time with a friend or as a special treat with the kids. However you spend Valentines do it with the ones you love.

I’m an old romantic and like  to make a bit of effort around Valentines to spend a little time with my husband, we don’t really buy presents but have always send card’s and make an effort to spend some time together. Its not necessarily what you do that’s special its just spending a little bit of time together that we enjoy.

I know a lot of people say why do you have to wait till Valentines day to show how much you love someone. You don’t but when your busy working, sorting the kids, cleaning the house, cooking, food shopping, sometimes we need a little reminder to appreciate and enjoy each others company and what better time to do this than Valentines. It gives us busy parents the gentle reminder that we are still a couple under the chaos of family life and it’s important to sit back and remember that. If you are not in a relationship it might be that you haven’t caught up with a friend for a long time and in need of a girly night in. Invite them round and enjoy a bit of time chatting and catching up or create a special valentines tea with the kids snuggle up under a snuggly blanket and enjoy some quality time together.

What better way to enjoy each other company than an indoor picnic. The kids call this a carpet picnic, It’s where we have party style nibbles sat down on the rug like a picnic but indoors. It’s always been something we have enjoyed doing as a family and a couple. Its usually our Christmas eve treat.

No need to dress up no baby sitter needed just some yummy food and a good film. Light the candles crack open the fizz and enjoy a bit of time with your loved ones.

Its my late night at work on valentines so we are opting for Marks and Spencer Dine in for £20  a delicious easy cooked meal and a glass of wine with my husband and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Spending time with loved ones is great for our wellbeing and happiness so grab a snuggle blanket put on a film, pour a glass of wine or make a nice big cup of tea whatever you decide to do this valentines day enjoy it with the ones you love.

I hope you all have a lovely Valentines day whatever you decide to do.

Until next time

Hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day. I might buy us a Valentine’s Day meal from Waitrose, your post has inspired me! I probably shouldn’t be such a miserable git for one day of the year 😉
