The Siblings Project {January 2017}

It’s the start of a brand new year 2017 wow I still can’t believe we are at the start of a brand new year. It’s also the start of a brand new year for The Siblings Project. This project is something I want to continue each month capturing images of my kids. Its wonderful opportunity to get photos of them both together each month. They seem to be enjoying each others company a lot more as the get older. Its not to say they don’t still have their squabbles but thankfully they are far less now. My only wish was that had started this project years ago. It would have been a very different tail to tell though and dont think they have always been so loving towards each other. When they were younger it was like beng in a boxing ring at times they really did have some times when i had to get between them. There is only 20 months between them, William being the oldest. It’s so nice to see they have come out the other end, I really hope they grow up knowing they both have each others backs and have a true friend in each other.

This month’s siblings project photos were taken on a day out in Castleton, Derbyshire. I was a little bit more excited for this months pictures as I got to use my new camera. Castleton is a beautiful place and only about a hour from were live so its lovely to have such wonderful countryside right on our door step really.

The kids have been hoping for snow this month but we are yet to have any locally. So when arrived in Castleton and it was snowing they were very excited to say the least. It wasn’t alot just a light covering really and soon stopped but they loved it never the less.

They both have been eger for us to visit Castleton for a while after they both visited back in October on a school residential. But we have decided to leave the trek up Mam Tor until the weather warms up abit.

So here are a few pics from our very cold day at Castleton I hope you enjoy.

I should add this is our third child {well she thinks she is}  fur baby Bella the Boxer dog. She is keen to get in on the action or get the ducks more like….

We took a flask of hot chocolate with us to warm up after our walk. It’s was a very cold day so was definitely needed.

We wondered around the village and had a look in the quaint shops and walked up to peak cavern one of the caves in the area. We didn’t go in the caves this time but have promised the kids we will come back and go in them. I’ve been to Castleton loads of time but have never been in the caves either so that will be a nice day out to look forward too.

My favourite picture has to be this one!! This is the them doing to “Dab” I’m still not 100 % sure myself on what the Dab is but it’s something that seems to have taken over all kids at the moment they even do it at school. The full year had “Dabbed” at the summit of Mam Tor on their residential so William was keen to get it in while visiting again.

I think he nearly knocked Ruby out to be honest.

So that’s Januarys Siblings Project complete if you would like to join in pop over to runs this link and see what you need to do.

Until next time

Caroline X
