I like glass of wine or two like most busy mums so when Le Petit Ballon wine club asked if they could send me one of there monthly wine boxes, of course I said yes !
Le petit ballon is a monthly subscription wine club you pay a monthly fee from 24.90 / month and receieve two bottles of wine in return. Carefully selected and boxed it also contains “The Gazette” magazine with tasting notes and pairing ideas from in house sommelier Jean-Michael Deluc. The gazette also changes each month according to the wine selected and includes recipe ideas, hints and tips for you to enjoy with your wine.
I receievd the September wine subscription box, which was set to take me on a virtual road trip of the Rhone Valley and 7 facets of the region. The Gazette also shared recipes and picnic ideas to accompany the wines whilst also giving me information about the winery and history of the wine.
I received the white Chateau Sua from Bordeaux and the red Domaine Grand Nicolet, both wines were very nice, I liked the fact that you get a little background knowledge about the wine and ideas of food you can enjoy with the wines.
I was very impressed with the wine service, and although I’m not sure I would want to commit to the subscription service every month, I did like the fact that the subscription can be canceled at any time but also that if you do enjoy one of the wines in particular, you can order it again with a 20% discount. No need to buy a big box of the wine though they can be bought on a individual basis so can be ordered depending on the occasion.
Le Petit Ballon subscription box is great for any wine lovers and would make a great gift for a Birthday or Christmas.
Have you every used a wine subscription service before? If not do you think this is something you would enjoy receiving each month?
Until next time
