Cruising with the whole family

When planning your family holiday have you ever thought about planning a cruise? Me neither, until  last year when my best friend told us they were planning on getting married upon a cruise ship. Although I don’t think its something we would have chosen ourselves, but careful research, reviews and checking out what the ship has to offer, we decided we would go.

Here are my reasons you should cruise with the whole family

See the world

Cruises are a fantastic way to see the world, and a chance to see multiply countries and places in one go whilst also visiting places you probably would never have chosen for a longer break. Each morning pulling into  different port and exploring what that place as to offer.

Everything under one roof

Although its a chance to see lots of places the added benefit of a cruise is that you don’t have to unpack and pack several times. All the facilities, swimming pools, restaurant’s and entertainment under one roof.

A touch of class

Although most ships are super child friendly they all have that little bit of luxury. Gone of the days of a very strict dress code, most ships now have a more relaxed attitude to evening dress. But there is still the option to dress up if you wish.

Child friendly ships

Lots of the American ships have such fantastic facilities for children with slides, open air cinema screens and some even have ice skating rinks. There literally is something for every age group.

Fantastic food and drink

The food is definitely the icing on the cake for me, from casual buffet dinning to elegant a’la carte restaurants, you can eat 24 hours a day if you wish and I’m pretty sure know one would go hungry.

Something for everyone

A cruise has something to offer the whole family, no matter what their age there is something for everyone to enjoy.

No flying needed

This is not the case for all cruises but many cruises can be done from Southampton port in the south of England, this is fantastic for anyone who is not so fond on flying but still gives them to opportunity to see the world.

I am really looking forward to our cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse in September with the whole family and feel like this will not be the last cruise we will go on as a family.

It would be lovely to hear what you think about cruise holidays and whether you think it’s a great all round holiday for the whole family.

Until next time

Caroline X
