We have always taken our children abroad and traveled in around the uk from a young age, although the long journeys the planning and packing can be a little stressful I really think the positive impact it has on our children make it all worth it. The sooner you can start experiencing different countries places and cultures the better and is something that I feel is so important for our children to experience from a young age. It helps with their personal development and opens their minds to different cultures and beliefs. Hopefully it will gives them the confidence as they grow to travel some more and see even more of the world.
Here are a few reasons I think its important for our children to Travel
Build a love of travel
From a young age children are curious about the world and are interested to find out about the world we live in. Traveling to different countries and places puts them in situations they may never face in everyday life, Experiencing them from a young age but also together as a family will give them the confidence to face other situations in their life and make good decisions in the future.
Learn them about the world we live in
Everywhere isn’t the same as the place we live. Traveling the world show our children there is much more than our little circle we live in everyday life.
Don’t just be a tourist
Teach children to not just do the tourist things when visiting countries and places, walk away from the main tourist areas, speak to locals and experience restaurants and food off the tourist spots.
Develop their personalities
Seeing the world and mixing with different people will help develop kids personalities by opening them up to a wide variety of people.
Have fun as a family
Holidays bring us that little bit closer, we are away from the every day stresses of life, it’s a chance to spend much more one to one time with each other and have fun together.
Travel learns us to have more acceptance of different beliefs and cultures. It learns children that we are not all the same and it learns them to have acceptance of these differences.
I strongly believe that traveling with children can only have a positive affect on their lives and upbringing.
Here’s to many more adventures.
Until next time
