What makes a great holiday??

Its coming to that time of year again, If you have a holiday planned or maybe you are deciding upon next years holiday. Its a tough decision, with lots of boxes to fill on what you want from a holiday. But what actually makes a great holiday ? Is it the place, the hotel or even the country that make the holiday so great?

I’m sharing what I honestly think makes the greatest of holidays and why a great holiday can be found wherever you travel.

We have always travelled with our children from a young age but what is the magic equation for a great holiday ?

The people

Spending time as family is the one thing we really enjoy on holiday. We are such a busy family juggling work, school, activities, cooking, shopping (you get the picture) it’s nice to actually slow down and enjoy each others company without the stresses of daily life.

New experiences

Whether you travel abroad or decide to stay closer to home it’s the experience’s we share and try out that make a great holiday. I always say that if my kids are happy I’m happy, no matter where we are.

Time to relax

Holidays for us are all about the slower pace of life, no clock watching, no rushing round just take the days as they come and enjoy a well earned rest.

Great food

We are all serious foodies and one of our favourite things to do is eat. Enjoy trying out new food is one of our favourite things to do on holiday. Sitting in a restaurant enjoying a lovely meal with maybe a couple of glasses of wine is a must for us.

I’d love to hear what holiday plans you have and what makes a great holiday for you ??

Until next time

Caroline X

Yes! Agree with all of these – especially the slower pace. We haven’t had our first proper family holiday yet – I really can’t wait to take our two kids away somewhere. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s camping or the beach, I think for me it’s about getting away form the busyness of every day life. x

All these things sound great – and tell me where I’m going wrong! Although we are away together we are not slowing the pace, or enjoying each others’ company. So hopefully once the work is done we can follow your guide and start to enjoy!

I agree with the slower pace of life. We’ve been rushing around so much lately that we’re all hanging and just waiting for our holiday mid-August. Hope everyone has a great holiday wherever this go!
